Meet Valvoline’s newest brand ambassador – ECD Monty Noble

The day of the creative director as the star may just have arrived, with The Brand Shop’s Monty Noble making a cameo appearance as himself in the latest Valvoline ad.

Noble – already a familiar face to TV audiences thanks to the ABC’s Gruen Transfer – appears in the ad alongside Valvoline V8 lead driver “Leethal” Lee Holdsworth.

The campaign, which breaks on Sunday, features Noble coaching Holdsworth through an ad in which they’ll be giving away Holdsworth’s street car in a competition.

According to Noble: “To keep production costs down to a minimum, we decided to shoot the TVC to look as though it was just a rehearsal. That way Lee would also appear more relaxed and believable rather than trying too hard to sell the brand.”

The promotion will also be supported by radio and on-line executions.

  2. A definite improvement on the ‘natural banter’ between John Laws and Ricky Ponting in Valvoline’s last effort

  4. No problems with a CD being in an ad provided the idea is strong enough and the execution is just as strong.

In this case, it’s all good.

And I agree with Sean, and VAST improvement over those shite Ponting/Laws ads…
