Southern Cross Austereo’s Triple M has continued its strong start to 2015 by claiming the lead position for FM stations in the Monday to Sunday figures from fellow-SCA rival FoxFM whilst also retaining its hold on the FM breakfast crown.

Triple M maintained its Monday to Sunday audience share of 7.4 per cent in survey two while FoxFM, which rebranded as Hit101.9 FoxFM in January, saw its audience share decline by 0.7 points to settle on a share of 6.9.

FoxFM tied with Nova Entertainment’s SmoothFM 91.5, with Smooth seeing their share drop by 0.3 share points. Kiis101.1 was the biggest loser of the survey, dropping 1 share point overall to 6.1 making it sixth in the FM standings in the city after rebranding from Mix at the start of the year.

That drop was precipitated by a huge fall for breakfast duo Jane Hall and Matt Tilley, with their share dropping by 1.1 share points to a share of 5.7.

In breakfast, Triple M’s Hot Breakfast team of Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy and Mick Molloy held onto the FM ratings crown despite a dip of 0.7 share points to sit on a leading share of 8.6.

Their closest rival, Nova100’s Meshel and Tommy, claimed a share of 6.2 after dropping 0.3 share points.

FoxFM’s breakfast duo of Fifi and Dave also saw their share decline, posting a share of 5.9, down from 6.8 in survey one.

Fairfax Radio’s 3AW’s breakfast team of Ross and John won the overall breakfast crown with a massive share of 20.1, a boost of 2 share points, while ABC774 fell further behind after seeing their share drop by 2.4 share points to a share of 14.2.

3AW also won overall with a Monday to Sunday share of 15.4, up 1.8 per cent as it transitions to new management under Macquarie Radio, while ABC 774 settled for second place with a share of 10.4.

It was a similar story in drive, with 3AW claiming an overall victory with a share of 12.5 while FoxFM claimed second place overall with a share of 8.9. Nova’s nationally syndicated team of Kate, Tim and Marty was third as their share remained stable at 8.7.

The ABC was in fourth place with a share of 8.5 while Kiis101.1’s Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek came in fifth place, and third in the FM heap, maintaining a share of 7.9.
