Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has appointed Alice Wilkinson as director of marketing and Leith Brooke as director of development.

Wilkinson, who starts immediately, joins the orchestra team after three years as strategic marketing manager with the Australian Ballet and has held marketing positions at Ernst & Young, Fairfax Media and Louis Vuitton.

MSO managing director André Gremillet said: “Alice’s marketing expertise and experience across different industries combined with a deep love for the arts and for music in particular made her the ideal choice for this role.”

Brooke, who is set to join on May 5, joins after two years as director of development with Opera Australia and worked in marketing at Volvo, both in Australia and in Europe before taking the role of development manager at the Theatre Company B Belvoir.

“Leith comes to the MSO with a highly successful track record driving philanthropic and corporate sponsorship revenue across several arts organisations, and she is particularly well equipped to lead our Development team,” Gremillet said.

“We are proud to welcome at the MSO two of the brightest executives in the Australian performing arts scene and look forward to working with them as part of the Company’s senior management team.”
