Melbourne’s Mix101.1 to give away a house

The Australian Radio Network is giving away a new house in Mix101.1’s biggest promotion of the year. The listener drive is in conjunction with Lend Lease and Burbank and will be led by breakfast hosts Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall.

The promo follows on from the January 2011 house giveaway by Mix’s sister station, Sydney’s Mix106.5fm, to promote its then-new breakfast team of Andrew Rochford and Claire Hooper. The announcement:

The Australian Radio Network (ARN) is thrilled to announce Mix101.1’s biggest promotion of the year – Mix101.1’s House That Melbourne Built. In conjunction with Lend Lease and Burbank, Mix101.1 is giving one very lucky listener A BRAND NEW HOUSE!

This exciting competition starts on Monday 17th September. In a unique twist, not only will Mix101.1 listeners get the chance to win a brand new home, they’ll get the chance to help design it. Each morning during Breakfast, Chrissie Swan & Jane Hall will announce the next addition to the home and listeners will vote on everything from the bathroom tiles to the kitchen sink, helping build the dream home for the lucky winner.

Listeners can vote on their preferred option online at www.mix1011.com.au. By voting, listeners will have the chance to win a key and go into the draw to win this amazing prize.  Bonus keys will also be given away across the weekends from Burbank Display Homes throughout the promotion.

“We are excited to partner with Burbank and Lend Lease to give away this incredible life-changing prize to a lucky Mix101.1 listener in Melbourne,” says Mix101.1’s Content Director, Brendon Dangar. “This is certainly our biggest promotion of the year … possibly our biggest in twenty years! I don’t remember the last time a radio station in Melbourne gave away a house to a listener.”

Melbourne Mix101.1 listeners will help design “The Oxford” from Burbank’s Genesis Collection.  “The Oxford” is a 20-square, three-bedroom home, which achieves a 7-Star energy-efficiency rating where it will be built at Laurimar, just 30 kilometres north of Melbourne.

Burbank is one of Victoria’s largest home builders, offering a wide range of home designs, home and land packages, townhouses, apartments, terraces and more.

“With its 7-Star energy-efficiency rating, residents can save on their heating and cooling bills – crucial during a time when energy bills are on the rise,” says Burbank Managing Director, Jarrod Sanfilippo. “Burbank has upgraded this beautiful, luxury home to include a double garage with two remote controls and even a stunning alfresco, meaning all the lucky listener has to do is move in and enjoy their new home. We are thrilled to be partnering with Lend Lease to make the Great Australian Dream come true at Laurimar for a lucky Mix 101.1 listener.”

Laurimar is an idyllic blend of scenic country living and city convenience, where you will find a relaxed pace of life, beautiful surrounds and room to move. Laurimar continues to prove a popular choice among homebuyers and is now home to more than 3500 residents in 1200 homes.

“For more than 50 years, Lend Lease has been creating communities that define the way Australians like to live and Laurimar will be no exception.  Its civic hub offers a thriving town centre filled with a range of specialty stores, a dedicated medical precinct, local primary school, kindergarten and early learning centre, as well as a community activity centre,” Lend Lease Project Director Jill Lim says. “Lend Lease is delighted to be teaming up with Burbank and Mix101.1 to offer one lucky Melbournian the unique opportunity to call Laurimar home.”

This exciting promotion will culminate in a live broadcast with Chrissie & Jane announcing the winner from the brand new home in Laurimar. Each contestant who has won a key will be there to test the lock to see if they are the lucky winner of The House that Melbourne Built!

Chrissie Swan and Jane Hall will broadcast live from The House That Melbourne Built in Laurimar on Friday 19th October.
