Melissa Hey promoted to national head of trading of OMD as group restructures trading

Melissa HeyThe Omnicom Group has continued to restructure its trading systems promoting Melissa Hey to the new position of national head of trading for OMD, just a week after it moved Tony Harradine to the new role of chief investment officer.

Hey was previously head of screen trading and will now report to both Peter Horgan OMD from a brand perspective and Harradine from a trading perspective.

“Mel is a formidable asset to have leading Australia’s largest team of media investment experts”, said Peter Horgan, CEO OMD Australia in a statement.

“At OMD we commit to providing our clients with the very best trading and investment technology, processes, and people. Mel is a proven negotiator, with strong media relationships, and is highly regarded across the industry.”

Hey will now also join the OMD national executive team.

Commenting on her promotion to the head of trading for OMD, which RECMA claims is Australia’s biggest media agency with $1.33bn in billings, Hey said: “This is the perfect time to be leading the trading team for OMD as the media landscape rapidly evolves across all technologies and platforms.

“OMD have placed an unparalleled focus on client-satisfaction and close, collaborative media partner relationships. I’m excited to be part of the OMG team, working with Tony to develop our trading vision.”

Gavin Gibson national strategy director for OMD today announced he was departing the agency to move to 303Lowe.
