MercerBell appoints Maura Tuohy

Direct marketing agency MercerBell has appointed Maura Tuohy as digital strategist.

MercerBell has appointed Maura Tuohy as Digital Strategist, boosting the agency’s social media capabilities.

Julie Dormand, general manager at MercerBell, said the appointment is part of the agency’s commitment to growing its digital talent.

“We have been attracting and appointing some seriously skilled digital communicators who know the value of the digital channels in cementing customer relationships,” Dormand said. “Maura brings highly valued social media skills to our strategy team and across the agency.”

Tuohy was most recently a social media strategist at Reprise, where she was integral in launching brands such as Jack Daniels, Hyundai, Target and Zuji into social media.

Before Reprise, she worked as a digital manager at media agency UM, across Microsoft, the award-winning Meat & Livestock Australia, Brown Forman and L’Oreal. In 2010 Tuohy won the Young Lions media category, with attendance at the Cannes Advertising Festival the prize.

Of her new role at MercerBell, Tuohy said: “MercerBell has a strong track record in understanding data and direct marketing, and now we are bringing together social media expertise with a data lens which makes us well placed to offer something unique to the market.”

Tuohy will report to senior strategist Jess Littlewood, and will work across the agency’s clients including MasterCard, Toyota, Nestle and Allianz.
