Meyer Cookware Australia appoints Spinach

Melbourne creative agency Spinach has won the competitive pitch to provide full service to Meyer Cookware Australia.  The agency will provide media planning and buying, social media, digital strategy and creative to the cookware organisation.

The announcement:

Meyer Cookware Australia, the Australian affiliate of California-based Meyer Corporation and Thailand-based Meyer Industries Limited, has appointed Spinach as its full service agency following a competitive pitch.

Meyer is the Australian market leader in cookware and food preparation across a number of product categories, channels and consumer demographics and the company has become a world leader in the manufacture of hard anodised non-stick cookware. Its key brands include Essteele, Raco, Anolon and Circulon.

Spinach has been appointed to handle Meyer’s strategy, creative, media planning and buying, social media and digital strategy.

Meyer has marketing affiliates and manufacturing plants across the globe. The company has been designing, manufacturing and marketing cookware on a global scale since 1971. Its global affiliates sell over 100 cookware lines in more than 30 countries, and employ more than 5,000 people worldwide.

Meyer Cookware Australia began operations in 1996 when Meyer affiliates purchased the Raco brand here.

“Meyer is a really pleasing win for the whole Spinach team. We put our best foot forward across the full gamut of our integrated disciplines and knocked off some really stiff competition,” Spinach Co-Founder and CEO Craig Flanders said.

“We are looking forward to working closely with the Meyer team on its stable of icon brands, in what is a challenging category that is undergoing a great deal of competitive pressure from some big players.”

Meyer Cookware Australia Chief Marketing Executive Suzanne Murphy said: “Australia’s ongoing love affair with cooking and food has seen cookware become an intensely competitive category. Spinach was the stand-out agency for us, presenting the best strategic thinking across a number of disciplines, including media, all under one roof.”

The competitive pitch involved several Melbourne agencies.
