Michelle Bridges 12WBT launches Spotify playlist generator
Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation has created an ‘intelligent’ running playlist generator on Spotify.
The announcement:
Australia’s leading online health and fitness program, Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation, has created an ‘intelligent’ running playlist generator on Spotify to help Australians get the most out of their run in the New Year.
Research has shown that listening to certain kinds of music while working out can increase physical endurance by up to 15 per cent, and make cardio workouts more enjoyable.[1]
The first Australian Spotify-powered widget of its kind, the generator will create a custom playlist and suggest nearby running routes for users of Spotify’s free ad-supported music service. Utilising Spotify’s powerful API, the generator asks music fans a series of questions in order to create your ultimate running playlist.
Questions include your location, favourite running song, distance and intensity of your run. The widget will then suggest various running routes near you, together with a playlist containing tracks similar to your favourite song – matching the BPM, energy and ‘loudness’ to match your mood and pace. Promotional segments for 12WBT’s running programs will run in between songs.
Kieron Wogan, 12WBT Marketing Director, says: “The perfect songs can make a run so much more enjoyable for Australians of all fitness levels. This playlist and running route generator was the perfect way to complement 12WBT’s broad range of running programs, from learn to run, right through to marathon programs.
“It will not only be a great companion for those already in our programs, but it will also introduce our running offering to a new audience before our 2 February Round kicks off.”
David Raitt, Spotify Australia and New Zealand Sales Director, adds: “Only Spotify can offer brands this level of music personalisation as part of their campaign. Our powerful API makes broad and deep music data available to advertisers interested in offering much more than a simple radio station – more intelligent, immersive, personal, and enjoyable branded experiences for Spotify users across Australia.”
The playlist generator will be available on desktop via the Spotify app, and on mobile and tablet through a microsite linked through from the Spotify mobile app.
The two-month campaign is live now. To check out the generator on mobile and desktop visit http://12wbt-playlist-generator.com

Hi Kaye. We recommend that you get the ‘all clear’ from your health professional before participating in a structured exercise program, such as 12WBT. They will be able to give you guidelines about which exercises you can and can’t do. We then encourage you to modify your Exercise Plan to suit you – your experienced teammates and the Trainers on the Support Crew will be able to help you with this if you’re unsure. You won’t ever be alone. Our Move Program might be a good place for you to start – all of the exercises in its Exercise Plans are low impact and low intensity, making it the perfect program for those have injures and/or health concerns that require them to begin a fitness regime.
Keep in mind, because weight loss is 80% nutrition, 20% exercise, even if you can’t follow the Exercise Plans exactly as Michelle has created them you can still achieve fantastic results by following the Meal Plan, watching Mish’s Mindset Videos and connecting with teammates in the Member Zone.
