Mike Spirkovski leaves Droga5 for Iris ECD role

mike spirkovski irisMike Spirkovski has been named executive creative director of Iris Sydney, his seventh role in five years

Spirkovski, currently with Droga5, will take up the role next month.

2009 saw him move from Leo Burnett where he was creative group head, to Publicis Mojo as senior art director. After a year he then moved on to Droga5 as creative director. He also spent a period as creative director of ad agency Cassius Clay before becoming joint executive director of Clemenger BBDO Sydney. When the agency moved to a single ECD structure headed by Paul Nagy, Spirkovski moved on and did another stint at Droga5 as creative director.

Iris clients include Shell, Adidas, City of Sydney and Diageo.

Luke Nathans, regional CEO for Iris Asia Pacific, said: “Nathans said: “The Australian team have had a fantastic run of success over the last 12 months. We’ve won plenty of big pitches, and produced some fantastic work for our existing clients. But we’re ambitious, the challengers, who aspire to be extraordinary. In the announcement Spirkovski said: “These opportunities are rare in our industry, to come in and lead an agency on the rise like iris, and continue to build on and develop great work for our clients. They have an incredible roster of clients both locally and internationally and most play in the really exciting space of participation, be it through innovation, digital technology, experiences or branded content.”
