Million Dollar Minute SevenThe first outing of the Grant Denyer fronted game show Million Dollar Minute had 811,000 viewers last night, outrunning the competition from Channel Nine’s Hot Seat which had 674,000.

Seven introduced the show in the 5.30pm timeslot owing to the widening gap between the Eddie McGuire hosted Hot Seat and Seven’s Deal or No Deal. Last night Deal or No Deal, on at the new time of 5pm, had 390,000 viewers, marking a 50,000 drop in its audience since last Monday.

Meanwhile, Ten’s decision to drop new dating contest The Bachelor from its primetime schedule on Sunday and Monday nights to a single outing on Wednesdays saw a slight lift in ratings for The X Factor on Seven and Nine’s Big Brother.

A live double eviction on Big Brother delivered relatively strong audiences for the show with an average 999,000 metro viewers last night, and The X Factor live results and elimination had 1.4m viewers over 1.317m last week. Big Brother was seventh overall and second in people 25-54, while The X Factor was the top entertainment show of the night and number one in the 25-54 demographic.

In place of The Bachelor, Channel Ten debuted sport and comedy show A League of Their Own, hosted by comedian Tommy Little, Wimbledon champion Pat Cash and Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan. The show on at 7.30pm had 465,000 total viewers last night, making it 22nd among all people and 17th in Ten’s target category of people 25-54.

Ten’s real life crime investigation show Wanted, on at 8.30pm, had 469,000 viewers, making it 21st in all people and it was 19th in people 25-54.

Seven’s British drama Mr Selfridge topped the 8.30pm timeslot with 834,000 total viewers over Channel Nine’s documentary series The Amazing 80’s which had a total audience of 809,000. The Amazing 80s faired better in the 25-54 category however where it was fifth in all programs, while Mr Selfridge was ninth.

ABC1’s Four Corners, also on at 8.30pm had 765,000 total viewers, followed by Q&A, which had 705,000 viewers at 9pm.

In the breakfast battle Seven’s Sunrise beat Nine’s Today with 383,000 over Today’s 319,000, winning in all cities but Sydney.

Seven won the night with 23 per cent of the audience over Nine’s 20.6 per cent share, while ABC1 had a 15.9 per cent share of the audience over Ten’s 9.7 per cent.
