Peter Myers has worked at Sears Canada for 32 years. And it turns out his brother is Mike Myers, who agreed to do this amusing ad playing up their connection. The spot—directed by Hungry Man’s Bryan Buckley—is nicely self-aware, too, as it comically refers to the retailer’s problems. And Mike and Peter’s banter is funny, natural and well written.”

Creativity-Online: Tiffany & Co. Makes the Holidays Sparkle With Lovely Animation

“Tiffany welcomes holiday shoppers to its site with beautiful animation by Psyop — part of the jeweler’s first creative campaign with new agency Ogilvy. The 30-second video imagines New York City as a romantic winter wonderland and features shimmering Tiffany jewels in various scenes along with a Tiffany-blue Christmas tree. The ad will also run in taxis, and shorter versions will appear on digital platforms in addition to print and display work.”

The Guardian: Netflix confirms epic drama The Crown, about No 10 and Buckingham Palace

“Netflix, the video-on-demand service behind Kevin Spacey’s House of Cards, has confirmed details of its epic royal drama The Crown from screenwriter Peter Morgan, its first UK production.

Morgan, who wrote The Queen, for which Helen Mirren won an Oscar, will team up with its producer Andy Harries and Billy Elliot’s Stephen Daldryfor the series, which is inspired by Morgan’s West End hit, The Audience.”

The New York Times: Amazon and Hachette Resolve Dispute

“Amazon and Hachette announced Thursday that they had resolved their differences and signed a new multiyear contract, bringing an official end to a publishing dispute that blossomed into a major cultural and business brawl.

Neither side gave details of the deal, but both pronounced themselves happy with the terms. Hachette, the fourth largest publisher, won the ability to set the prices for its e-books, which was a major contention in the fight.”
