For a week from March 2 the Foxtel channel will become MTV Pride and will see MTV’s current VJs Krit and Kate Peck replaced by drag queen Courtney Act and international drag queen and comic Bianca Del Rio.

There will be a series of guest hosts including Kiesza, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne and programs such as Mardi Gras Anthems Top 100, Girl Groups VS Boy Bands, liver performances and a popularly voted top 30 voted by readers of the LGBTI website SameSame.

“We’re thrilled to have both Courtney Act and Bianca Del Rio on board as our VGays for MTV Pride. This is a very special initiative for us and we’re confident that with their help, we’ll be able to offer our viewers a unique, fun and totally outrageous weeklong celebration of all things Mardi Gras,” said Simon Bates, director of MTV Australia & New Zealand.

The Mardi Gras parade will be shown on SBS 2.
