Naked Communications unveils first work for Red Rooster ‘Chicken. Chicken. Chicken.’
Red Rooster is continuing with its ‘Tender Loving Chicken’ positioning in its new spring summer campaign created by recently-appointed creative agency Naked Communications.
It follows on from a campaign created by Red Rooster’s strategic agency Brand Council which was developed before and during the recent creative agency pitch which saw the account shift from 303Lowe Perth to Naked Communications, with Naked now tasked with developing the new direction into the future.
The ad focuses on the brand’s roast chicken product as it aims to highlight how Red Rooster chickens have no added hormones or added MSG. It features the track ‘Ice Cream’ by US experimental rock group Battles, with the track set to be part of the chain’s campaigns for the next 12 months.
Naked Sydney creative director Katie McCarthy said: “Roast chicken is a classic family dinner. Since it’s already a favourite family meal our task was simply to remind Australians that Red Rooster makes the best roast chicken.
“We wanted this work to convey the energy and passion that Red Rooster has for what they do and to build on the rich TLC brand idea. The result is something quirky, maybe a bit unexpected, definitely upbeat and a good sign of things to come. ”
Running until November 22, the campaign spans TV, radio, in-store and digital.
Red Rooster national marketing manager Anna Jones said: “At Red Rooster, we’re going back to what we do best, which is giving Australian families the best roast chicken for the dinner table.
“Food from the Red Rooster kitchen is now seasonal and completely free of artificial colours and flavours so we wanted to inject energy and a sense of whole-some fun into the classic chicken meal with this campaign. The creative execution by Naked Communications has beenabsolutely on point and we couldn’t be happier with our first piece working together.”

Love it, uniquely positioned and perfectly executed. Heaps better than the initial campaign rolled out by Brand Council which was average at best.

Memo Anna Jones, Sarah Stoker et al: You are wasting a lot of money advertising on TV in Sydney, when there are virtually no Red Rooster outlets north of the harbour bridge and way out towards the western suburbs. How dumb is that?

A montage.
But why all the negative imagery of purple chickens and steroids etc. questionable associations for a fast food outlet.
Visuals much more powerful than words.

Living and working in the CBD, there are zero Red Rooster stores around. You have to travel kms past inner west towards Strathfield or down near the airport to find a store. Not very convenient or cheap.

this ad puts me off eating chicken.

I’m really liking this direction, definitely will set RR apart from the rest of the crap out there. However, as many people have already pointed out, good luck finding a store east of Ashfield. Share the love Red Rooster.

Same old same old, could be any brand who cooks chicken.
It’s got client led all over it, food porn being the only thing in it.
Not mentioning it is all about Red Rooster in a 1990’s advertising kind of way.
Doesn’t matter how beautifully shot it is, if it is wallpaper..
