Naomi Campbell coming to Australia to find The Face
An Australian version of Naomi Campbell’s worldwide series The Face will be produced locally by Shine Australia for Foxtel.
The reality format for a modelling competition series follows three supermodels as they mentor teams of up-and-coming models as they go head to head in a contest to become ‘The Face’ of a major brand.
Campbell will lead the hunt for local talent as co-executive producer of the show.
Campbell said: “The show is a real insight into the modelling world – it’s authentic, fast paced, and gives our aspiring models a taste of what it’s really like. We’re trying to find contestants who have the whole package.”
The Face is an original Shine America format first launched on the Oxygen network in February and a UK version soon followed.
The host of The Face Australia and remaining two model coaches have not yet been announced, and applications are open for women aged 18-30 to apply.
The series will air on FOX8 next year.
Foxtel’s executive director of television Brian Walsh said: “Naomi Campbell is an industry icon. She is one of the world’s original supermodels who continues to set the benchmark for the industry, and we are delighted to have secured her to join Foxtel and headline The Face Australia.”
Shine Australia CEO Mark Fennessy said: “With fashionista mentors, real brands and real campaigns, viewers will get double the drama, tension and excitement.”
