New judging controversy for Cannes Lions after late disqualification of Grand Prix winner

The Cannes Lions suffered an embarrassing judging disaster in the Press Lions category, with what was due to be its Grand Prix winner disqualified  minutes before the ceremony, reports The Guardian.

According to the newspaper, chairman Marc Tutssel, from Leo Burnett, emailed the rest of the jury to inform them that he was disqualifying the entry – a long form print ad for Mattel’s Scrabble from Ogilvy Mexico _ because it had been entered before and failed to make the cut, and upgrading another entry to Grand Prix winner.

    A. This year is of a particularly low standard
    B. All award shows are just a lucky dip
    C. All of the above
