Andrew Packham, chief executive of the Newsagents Association of New South Wales and ACT, will retire next month

The announcement:

The NANA Board today announces that Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Packham is, retiring.

Andrew notified the Board earlier this month that he is soon to undergo major spinal surgery. He has since worked with the NANA Board and staff to enable him to finish on Friday May 8.

The NANA Board thanks Andrew for his ten years of dedication to NANA.

We particularly highlight his drive to bring NANA and the ANF closer together that resulted in the current Alliance signed in 2011.

It has also been invaluable to have Andrew working on the expiry of the Lotteries Moratorium this year given his involvement in 2010 in both the Moratorium negotiations and also as the NANA Lead in a bid consortium for NSW Lotteries.

An event to raise a glass with Andrew is planned.

The NANA Board wishes Andrew the very best for his impending surgery with a speedy recovery.
