Nike store pops up on Oxford Street
Global sports brand Nike has continued its Olympic ambush activities with a new temporary store on Sydney’s shopping mecca Oxford Street.
Nike is showcasing innovations like the Nike Pro TT Turbo Speed, billed as “the world’s fastest running suit”, along with new ranges of footwear and clothing designed for athletes.
The store is only open in the evenings, from 6 until 10pm, and runs until August 12.
The activation follows Nike’s “find your greatness” ad, which carefully avoids mentioning the Olympics in order to comply with Olympic ad rules.
The ad is yet to screen on TV in Australia but has had over 3.8m views on Youtube.
Juliana Nguyen, Marketing Director – Nike Pacific told Mumbrella: “Nike has always focused its efforts on creating the very best products and technologies to assist the athlete – both at an elite and everyday level. The new Nike Innovation Pop Up showcases all of our latest and greatest products, some of which will be worn by the world’s greatest athletes in 2012. The space provides an opportunity for consumers to experience these innovations first hand in a unique and engaging retail environment.”
The pop up store was launched at an event which some of Australia’s leading bloggers attended.
If Oxford St is Mecca then Mt Druitt is Jerusleum… Oxford st hasn’t been anything near a mecca since the Athens Olympics were on… Your 2 Olympics late Nike!
