Nissan turns to Instagram video platform in campaign to promote ‘vibrancy’ of Juke
Instagram has said Nissan has become the first automotive brand to advertise on its new video platform, in a new campaign for the Nissan Juke.
Backed up by metropolitan outdoor billboards, the series of 15 second ads depict people being splashed in the face with paint, juxtaposed with images of the SUV.

The campaign was created by Whybin\TBWA and will be complemented by a 60 second online video across catch-up TV and social media networks.
Instagram Australia and New Zealand brand development lead Sophie Blachford said videos have a lot of potential for advertisers.
“Video ads on Instagram are a powerful new way for Australian advertisers to share their brand stories and we are excited to see an auto client come aboard with Nissan Australia’s launch of Juke,” she said.
“Instagram Video ads offer Nissan the same visual, immersive quality as photo ads but gives the added ability to demonstrate sound and motion.”
General Manager of Whybin\TBWA Mike Napolitano said the platform helps promote the “beauty” of the car.
“The new Nissan Juke has a pretty out-there design. So it’s unsurprising that we needed to create a campaign with the same vibrancy and attitude. Knowing Instagram video was a key component of the campaign, we shot at 1000 fps to highlight the beauty of colour in every droplet.”
Nissan Australia executive general manager of marketing Chris Mandile said the campaign highlights the Juke’s “personalised” feel.
“The new Nissan Juke is fun, bold and personalised. Its provocative design and extensive customisation options attracts a unique buyer who wants to stand out from the crowd,” he said.

Not much you can do with the Juke… I feel sorry for the marketers trying to offload this car – not an easy sell.
