Nominations for AMI board close today as hunt goes on for CEO

Nominations for election to the board of the Australian Marketing Institute close later today as the industry body also continues its search for a new chief executive.

AMI chairman Graham Wright told Mumbrella that 19 nominations had so far been received for six board places up for grabs. Board hopefuls must submit their application by 5pm this afternoon. AMI_Rel1_BW_Fig5

Wright said he was “pretty happy” with the response, claiming it showed there was good industry support for the organisation.

The names of the nominees will be announced on Monday with AMI members given from August 29 until September 14 to vote.

It will be the first time board members have been directly elected by the membership. Previously they were nominated through state councils.

Once elected, the six board members will then select a further four directors.

Along with the board election, Wright said the Institute was “in the process” of recruiting a new chief executive to replace Mark Crowe who left in March after 10 years in the role. Crowe is now head of brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance.

Wright described the selection process as “rigorous” but declined to confirm if a shortlist had been drawn up or predict when an announcement would be made.
