NSW government announces consolidated media pitch

The NSW government is to consolidate its media account in what it likely to be one of the highest value pitches of the coming months.

The account is currently held by media agencies Mediacom and Adcorp and is believed to be worth around $70 million.

The tender is for the “media buying, media planning, recruitment and public notice components” of the master media account.

A briefing session will be held on April 17 and then tenders close on May 7.

The announcement:

The NSW Government has put the media buying, media planning, recruitment and public notice components of its Media Agency Services contract out to tender.

The Government is seeking tenders for three categories of service: public awareness campaigns – media buying (category A); public awareness campaigns – media planning (category B); and recruitment and public notice advertising (category C).

Public awareness advertising (Categories A and B) includes health and road safety campaigns, tourism promotion and other announcements of Government initiatives and activities. Category C advertising includes recruitment and public notice advertisements.

Individual NSW Government departments develop, fund and implement advertising and communications relating to their own areas of responsibility, and as required, for their core business and objectives.

The aims of a consolidated, whole-of-government Media Agency Services contract include streamlined and high quality service delivery and account management; and the provision of high quality strategies that ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of Government advertising.

Commercial benefits are also envisaged through the delivery of competitive rates and other value added benefits to NSW Government departments.

This contract does not include the provision of creative advertising services. These services are delivered through the advertising and communications services scheme panel.
