Ogilvy Digital Influence rebrands as Social@Ogilvy

Social@OgilvyOgilvy’s social media division Ogilvy Digital Influence has launched its rebranded offering Social@Ogilvy.

The relaunch was announced at an event partnering with social media software supplier Radian 6.

The change seems intended to make Ogilvy’s social and word-of-mouth offering simpler to understand and more accessible to clients and other Ogilvy business units.

The press release claims: “Social@Ogilvy enables the firm to more efficiently and effectively serve the complex needs of clients, as social solutions become true business solutions.”

The Sydney team has grown from a single staffer at its inception – Brian Giesen – to 14 staff in the core team, along with an extended team from other agencies in the Ogilvy group, including Ogilvy and Mather, Ogilvy One and Neo@Ogilvy.

Giesen said: “The work being created by the Sydney team has been pretty cutting edge, and we hope to keep leading the charge.”

The Social@Ogilvy global team now stands at over 550 social media practitioners, making it the largest in the world.

The partnership with Radian 6 seems to indicate Social@Ogilvy’s approach to WOM and social media will remain based firmly in monitoring and listening ahead of executions and campaign work.

The agency is looking to recruit two more senior roles.
