Ogilvy launches data@Ogilvy

Leon BombotasOgilvy Australia has announced the launch of a new data and analytics practice, data@Ogilvy to be headed by Leon Bombotas, who came over from CBS interactive in April.

Data@Ogilvy launched this week with more than 20 staff redeployed from a variety of areas across the business, including direct, digital, performance media and social team.

Andrew Baxter, CEO of Ogilvy Australia, said data@Ogilvy would build on the its existing background in analytics.

“Marketers are looking for a strong guide through an increasingly complex data environment in order to drive real business growth,” said Baxter. “With specialist data skills across digital, media, CRM and social, we’re excited about data@ogilvy’s ability to help today’s marketers achieve this growth, particularly with such an experienced operator at the helm.”

Bombotas has previously worked at eBay, Telstra, CBS Interactive and Ernst & Young and as a member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s measurement council.

“By bringing all the data disciplines together it enables us to develop unique solutions to complex marketing challenges across all client industries, including retail, FMCG and Telcos,” said Bombotas.
