OMD appoints HR manager Carolyn Maloney to executive team

OMD has placed an HR professional on its national executive team for the first time, with the promotion of Carolyn Maloney, the agency’s director of people management.

In addition, OMD Australia has poached Nick Barbour from Aegis Media\Mitchell & Partners to fill the role of people and development manager. Barbour will report to Maloney.

Maloney was appointed director of people management at OMD Australia in 2006, and took on the same role for Omnicom sister agency PHD in 2009.

Peter Horgan, CEO of OMD Australia, said: “It is testament to the great work that Carolyn has done in driving people development, evangelising the importance of focusing on our staff, and driving fame and PR for OMD as being a top employer, not only within the communications industry, but also on a wider stage.”

“It’s a logical step that the person charged with driving the development of our people, should sit at the centre of the community charged with the strategic direction for our business”.

Maloney started her career as an account executive at Mattingly Melbourne in 1988, and took on her first HR role at DDB Sydney in 1999.

Barbour, a graduate of HR management/industrial relations at Charles Stuart University, was previously HR Advisor at Mitchells.
