Optus releases third instalment around “It’s Possible” positioning
Optus has launched a campaign to promote a new range of post-paid mobile plans around unlimited mobile voice calls and SMS.
The TVC is the third instalment of the telco’s “It’s Possible” positioning, unveiled in April with agency M&C Saatchi.
The spot features the return of the yellow cubes, used in previous campaigns to represent the network of family and friends.
The ad finishes with “Now better off together.”
Accompanying the TVC will be press, point of sale, Online, mobile and radio executions.
Michael Smith, marketing director of Optus said: “As with our recent brand campaign, the message is a very simple one – what matters most to you, matters to us. From the ability to connect with the people you love to getting the hottest phone before anyone else, Optus makes it possible.”
Ben Welsh, M&C Saatchi ECD said: “The simple truth is that when people come together with family and friends they are always better off. We took this insight and created a strong emotional connection with the consumer and the product.”

Strange how little boxes seem to be the new black for telcos. Optus has floating yellow boxes and Telstra has multi-coloured dancing boxes.

These ads are getting better. I was worried for them after seeing the new creative style launch but it’s starting to come together more. I’ll think they’re start getting real traction with these. And I’ve noticed theyve starting to use price points ending in zero, e.g $50 instead of $49. A nice way to break the clutter and to fatten pockets. Looks like they didnt sack everyone in their marketing department….
