Paging the fun police

While any brand has to worry about the legal implications of running a contest, there does come a point where the entire thing looks so unappealing it may be worth going back to the drawing board.

I think Nissa Nocvara’s Powerful Tradie contest has found that point.

  4. God, that is terrible. What’s the point?
On another note, that typical knock-about “Aussie” voiceover makes me want to /myself.

    FAIL.

  6. Admittedly bad, but worth mentioning that this is the “Do & Don’t” video, not the promotion video.

    However, video title fail.

  18. FFS, marketing people….take the fun out of everything. It’s like they have a long list of imaginary people they can’t offend or risks they can’t take and tick boxes until they have something left.

  24. Although I think this is a pretty cringe site, there ARE a long list of people that are just waiting to be offended and are ready to pounce the second they find something.

Just think back to the auto ad with the toddler driving his toddler girlfriend to the beach. It was pulled because of complaints.

It’s an indication of just how carefully you must construct competitions, disclaimers, etc today.

  28. It’s like they are talking to little kids. They actually talk down to potential entrants, also as if they could possibly be retarded.

“Remember kids, get your mum’s permission to call”.
