Perth radio ratings: Mix holds onto ratings crown in breakfast as Nova retains lead in drive

Mix 94.5 has held onto its Perth FM ratings crown despite near universal declines for FM stations, with the exception of Hit92.9 which experienced a boost thanks to the return of Hamish & Andy.

Mix’s Monday to Sunday share of 14.2 per cent was down by 0.1 share points, while Nova93.7 claimed second place with a share of 11.7 per cent, dipping by 0.8 share points.

In at third place was 96FM with a share of 10.2 per cent while hit92.9 claimed fourth place with a share of 9.9 per cent, up by 2.1 share points.

Hit92.2’s growth largely came from people aged 18-24, with the demographic growing by 6.8 share points with the station claiming a share of those listeners of 26.7 per cent. The station also grew amongst 25-39 year old listeners, boosting by 4.7 share points to a share of 15.5 per cent while listeners aged 10-17 fell away by 4.1 share points to a share of 21.3 per cent.

The breakfast slot remained largely static with Mix94.5 holding onto the top FM spot with a share of 13.2 per cent, with Nova in at second place with a share of 12 per cent. 96FM claimed third place with a share of 10.5 while Hit92.9 came in at fourth with a share of 9.2 per cent.

It was again the same story in drive with with Nova’s nationally syndicated team Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold in the lead with a commanding share of 15.5 per cent ahead of  Australian radio Network station Mix’s drive offering which posted a share of 14.1 per cent.

Hit92.9 claimed third place with Hamish & Andy boosting the station’s drive share by 3.5 points to a share of 8.9 per cent. The increase came at the expense of 96FM which saw its share drop by 2.2 share points to 8.9 per cent.

Amongst the AM stations, Macquarie Radio Network’s 6PR increased 1.5 points overall to a 8.4 share while ABC720 claimed a share of 10.2 per cent.
