Perth radio ratings: Mix stretches lead over Nova despite dip in listeners
Southern Cross Austereo’s Mix94.5 extended its lead over Nova93.7 as Perth’s most listened to FM station as both suffered a drop off in listeners in the latest radio ratings survey.
Mix saw a 0.7 fall to an overall share 13.8, while its nearest competitor dropped 0.9 points to 12.6 in the seven weeks to December 6. Nova had clawed level with Mix in survey 6 before Mix re-established its lead in survey 7.
The decline of both stations allowed Fairfax Radio’s 96FM to inch closer after capturing 10.2, up from 9.4.
Mix also stretched its lead in the breakfast slot after a slight increase in share to 14.3. Nova fell away, falling from 13.8 to 12.8. Triple J, which took an overall share of 11, up from 10.4, closed the gap with a one point rise to 11.
Nova did retain its crown in the drive time slot with its national syndicated program with Kate, Tim and Marty rising 0.1 to 15.6, comfortably clear of Mix’s 13.2.
Fairfax’s 96FM enjoyed solid listener growth in drive of 1.4 points, ending the period with a share of 9.7.
ABC720 remained the clear leader on the AM frequency with a share of 9.6, unchanged from the previous survey. The station’s nearest competitor, 6PR, saw a sharp fall of 1.2 points to 7.3, which followed a 1.1 decline in the last set of ratings.
