Porn star Eva Lovia lends support to cancer cause in M&C Saatchi awareness campaign

A cancer awareness campaign featuring a porn star in an erotic parody of Game of Thrones has been heralded a major success with more 200,000 people visiting a website created to provide information about testicular cancer.

The Play with Yourself campaign, created by M&C Saatchi, saw the Blue Ball Foundation hook up with Los Angeles-based adult film studio Digital Playground, the company behind a movie called Game of Balls.

Midway through the movie, porn star Eva Lovia turns to the camera and, using her co-star’s penis, demonstrates how to check for testicular cancer.

The actress then points to to a URL on the screen, playwithyourself.org, which provides advice and information on the cancer, before returning to her activities.

The movie was released to coincide with the launch of series 5 of Game of Thrones and appeared on a number of adult video-sharing sites.

Unsurprisingly, M&C Saatchi said it was the first public health message to appear in the middle of a porn movie.

The agency said the campaign took off on social media leading to more than 1.5m views with in excess of 200,000 people visiting the playwithyyourself.org website.

M&C Saatchi executive creative director Ben Welsh said: “We’re always looking for surprising new ways to reach people with messages that matter.

“This time we really caught men with their pants down – and all for a good cause.”
