Porter Novelli’s pop-up agency announces judging panel for fashion design casting call

Porter Novelli Melbourne’s pop-up PR agency jack + bill has announced the judging panel for its fashion design casting call which will see an aspiring designer win up to $30,000 of PR representation.

Pop-up public relations agency jack + bill, an offshoot of Porter Novelli Melbourne, is proud to announce its official casting call judging panel. Leaders and experts across fashion, media and PR will identify up to three of Melbourne’s most impressive emerging fashion, jewellery and accessories design talent to receive up to $30,000 worth of PR representation at no cost.

Meet the jack + bill panel…

Alex Zabotto-Bentley

Director, AZB Creative

With a resume that includes Men’s Fashion Director of Vogue Australia at just 25 years of age, style director at Fresh Media and designer and founder of successful design label, FashionAssassin, Alex Zabotto-Bentley has been a leading player in the Australian fashion industry for years. He is now the Director of AZB Creative, a full service event, concept, design, styling and management company that worked recently with such brands as Madison Magazine, Lady GAGA, ACP Magazines, Harpers Bazaar/Peroni Young Designer Awards, Jayson Brunsdon and many more. Alex has been a permanent guest judge on the Australian Project Runway series, and is the acclaimed event director at this year’s Chambord Shine Awards, another great initiative supporting emerging design talent. Alex is looking for marketable uniqueness in potential jack + bill applicants.

Sandi Sieger

Director & Editor-In-Chief, Onya Magazine

Sandi Sieger is Director and Editor-in-Chief of Onya Magazine, an online publication showcasing Australian people, businesses, culture, beauty fashion and more. Through her work at the magazine, which is set to launch a bi-annual print version later this year, Sandi is committed to supporting Australian design talent and keeping people informed of the sensational scope of young designers emerging in this country every year. Sandi’s passion for traditional and new media and for journalism translates on her own blog, In the Thick Of It. Sandi is also the Editor and Social Media Manager at White Echo. Sandi believes that Australia’s image on the world stage is sometimes way off the mark and she wants people to recognise that Australia does fashion just as well, if not better, than the rest of the world. Sandi is looking for design talent that is a wonderful representation of Australia and designs that encompass and embrace what’s at this country’s core: individuality, spunk, intelligence, kindness and integrity, in potential jack + bill applicants.

Peter Kent

Managing Director, Porter Novelli Melbourne

Peter has led Porter Novelli in Melbourne since 2003, having previously headed the Sydney agency Michels Warren. Before moving into the world that is consulting, Peter was an award-winning journalist, a policy adviser and adventure travel guide. It’s this diverse experience that allows Peter to provide unique perspective and insights across industry sectors, from fast moving consumer goods to government, corporate, health and wellness, professional associations and not-for-profits. Peter provides senior counsel and campaign leadership to Porter Novelli clients in both brand and reputation settings. Peter is looking for what he calls either “pragmatic creativity or creative pragmatism” in potential jack + bill applicants.

Briony Carland

General Manager, jack + bill

As well as General Manager of jack + bill, Briony Carland is an Account Manager at Porter Novelli Melbourne and has over four years experience in the public relations industry, with developed expertise in consumer communications and solid experience in the lifestyle, entertainment, beauty, health, food and education sectors. Briony has developed skills in consumer relations, media relations, brand awareness and partnerships, social media, sponsorship development, event management and product launches. Briony is looking for a strong vision with a point of difference, a unique offering and a designer with a bit of spark, in potential jack + bill applicants.

The jack + bill casting call will be held on Saturday, 30 July at 1000 Pound Bend.

Interested designers are required to download and complete an official application form from www.jackandbill.com.au and bring this, along with a portfolio or look-book for assessment on the day.
