Presto gives away free month’s subscription with KFC Family Burger Box purchase

prestoKFC and Foxtel’s video streaming service Presto have partnered up to offer KFC customers a free month subscription the service when the Family Burger Box is purchased for $24.95.

KFCRecently Presto dropped its subscription fee from $19.99 to $9.99 per month amid speculation it was struggling for traction with consumers, admitting the “market has changed” since its launch in March..

The promotion launches tomorrow and runs through until the end of the month , with the offer needing to be redeemed by January 26, 2015. Only the first 75,000 customers will be able to take up the offer.

A Presto spokesperson confirmed the promotion, telling Mumbrella: “We’re always looking for opportunities to partner with folks that we feel we’ve got a good connection with, and we think KFC is definitely one of them.”

When quizzed on the type of audience the promotion is targeting, the spokesperson said: “When you think about KFC, its audience is pretty broad.”

The timing of the promotion coincides with the school holidays during which Presto offers curated movies lists aimed at school children and families.

The spokesperson said the company doesn’t share its subscription numbers.

It is set to compete with Nine Entertainment Co’s StreamCo, which is expected to launch next year, and will also be priced at around the $10 mark, as well as existing offering Quickflix. While rumours persist US giant Netflix will launch in the market early next year, with hundreds of thousands of Australians already thought to be accessing the service. The company lodged for copyright of its name in Australia at the start of the year.
