Priceline secures Adelaide Thunderbirds sponsorship

Priceline Pharmacy has announced a three-year sponsorship deal as Principal Partner of Australian netball team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds.

Priceline Pharmacy is delighted to announce a three-year sponsorship deal as Principal Partner of championship-winning Australian netball team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds.

Having taken the ANZ Championship title in 2010 and 2013, the Adelaide Thunderbirds are the most successful team in Australia, being the only team to win two premierships. Training and playing at the Netball SA stadium in South Australia, the Adelaide Thunderbirds, as part of Netball SA, has over 32,000 registered participants. 

As a female-focussed retailer, Priceline Pharmacy is proud to support a sport that appeals to so many women. Stephen Roche, Managing Director and CEO of API, Priceline Pharmacy’s parent company said, “Priceline’s key focus is women’s health and wellbeing. Supporting one of the most popular female sports in Australia, Priceline Pharmacy’s partnership with the Adelaide Thunderbirds gives us the perfect platform for talking about women’s health and fitness in a dynamic and engaging way. We look forward to developing our partnership at a National, State and grass roots level.”

Alongside the sponsorship announcement, the Adelaide Thunderbirds also announced new Captain Renae Hallinan and Vice-Captains Emily Beaton and Rebecca Bulley yesterday.

Netball is the number one women’s participation sport in Australia, with 95% of Australian girls having had a netball experience – few other sports achieve this level of involvement. As a retailer that means so much to women, including our players, Priceline is the perfect fit for the Adelaide Thunderbirds.”

The partnership will include Country Championship naming rights, a stand at the Netball SA Stadium named in honour of Priceline Pharmacy and Thunderbird player appearances at Priceline Pharmacy events and in-store activities.

As prominent ambassadors for Priceline Pharmacy, the Thunderbirds will appear in television commercials and play a role in key Priceline initiatives; including the health-focussed campaign, What’s your Health Age? and The Priceline Sisterhood.
