Pulse drafts Buchanan to replace founder Samantha Allen

The Ogilvy PR Australia-owned Pulse Communications has drafted Matt Buchanan to head up the agency following the departure of its founder Samantha Allen to a wider role for Ogilvy PR Worldwide.  

Buchanan will return to Australia after a stint heading up the consumer brands division of The Red Consultancy in London.

He has worked in the UK for 12 years and previously held roles at Lexis PR and the Bell Pottinger Group.

Allen is leaving Pulse to join Ogilvy PR Worldwide and lead the agency’s global consumer marketing practice from New York.

Buchanan will take up the role of MD on September 6.

Pulse’s clients include LG Electronics, Tourism Australia, Foster’s, Rolls Royce, Ford and Unilever brands.

Ogilvy PR Australia is a joint venture between Ogilvy PR Worldwide and the STW Group.
