Qantas: ‘the cricket’s almost over, the global sale is now on’
Qantas is running a campaign to promote its discounted fares season, the ‘Qantas Global Sale’.
The ad features what appears to be a romantic encounter between a woman and a man in a luxurious hotel room, until it becomes obvious that his cricket whites have got stains on them.
The narrator in the ad, with an accent reminiscent of Richie Benaud, ‘The cricket’s almost over. The global sale is now on’.
Last year, Droga5 won the bulk of Qantas’ advertising work from Publicis Mojo. It is unclear which of the two agencies created this campaign, and Qantas did not respond to Mumbrella’s questions.
Oh my dear sweet lord. Not surprised the agency won’t fess up.
That is the sort of self indulgent b@ll@cks that gives advertising a bad name.
