Rachael Taylor films love story for Bonds

Aussie actress Rachael Taylor has created a series of branded short films for Bonds in the form of a three-part love story set in New York.

Taylor wrote, directed and starred in the series of two-minute clips, the first of which was launched earlier this week.

The love story follows the relationship of Taylor and “Jack,” the first detailing their first conversation, which quickly gets bogged down with the pair trying to explain Australian and American vernacular.

“Jack” is played by US comedian Nick Kocher.

The shorts were filmed outside Taylor’s New York apartment in one day and the next film in the series will be released this Friday.

“As an Aussie living in New York, I’m constantly entertained by the little nuances and confusions between American and Australian phrases; It has been a really fun process in writing and directing these short films, using Bonds clothing and their translations as the constant theme”, she said.

Bonds marketing manager Zoe Hayes said: “This online series created with Rach highlights the pain all Aussies go through when traveling or living overseas. Undies become pants in the UK, panties in the US. It’s no wonder we’re a misunderstood bunch.”

Taylor has been featured heavily in Bonds campaigns in the past, including the Bond’s Birthday Project last year, and one of the most Googled ads of 2011.

Bonds is the second major brand to launch a piece of branded entertainment locally in recent days with Boost Mobile creating a zombie series.
