2UE asks the listeners
Dr Mumbo’s spy was recently asked to complete an audience survey from struggling Sydney talk radio station 2UE.
The survey asked viewers to rate a number of Sydney radio personalities such as Alan Jones, Angela Catterns, Andrew Rochford and Todd McKenny.
But there were a couple of names on the list that caught Dr Mumbo’s attention. Such as the ABC’s 702’s Adam Spencer who announced he was quitting radio in May, and radio legend Gary O’Callaghan, who left radio a number of years ago.
More interesting is to see the absence from the list of any of Radio 2UE’s current lineup… although it includes several fill-in presenters including Luke Bona, John Cadogan and Brian Carlton.
It is only a month since rumours swept the radio the industry that the station was considering dumping its breakfast show featuring Dicko and Sarah Morice with 2UE management forced to come out and declare the show to 3.4 per cent just needed “more time to bed in”.
It will be interesting to see who 2UE management might be considering for a slot next year… Andrew O’Keefe anyone?
If 2UE goes even more fluffy may as well switch off the transmitter. Fairfax Hq are you reading this MANAGEMENT IS YOUR PROBLEM at 2UE

Here’s a wacky idea, 2UE; don’t pick up somebody else’s reject, build up your own talent. Remember, Alan Jones was a former teacher, former speechwriter, former rugby coach with an edge that somebody noticed. The person you’re looking for may never have been on the air before, or at least not in a prominent role.
