Radio ratings: Jonesy and Amanda claim top FM breakfast in Sydney from Kyle and Jackie O

WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda have taken the number one FM radio breakfast spot in Sydney from KiisFm duo Kyle Sandlands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, while talkback station 2GB continues its overall domination of the market as 2UE posted its worst ever share.

Brendan Jones and Amanda Kelleher tied for the number one spot with their fellow Australian Radio Network DJs Kyle and Jackie O in the first survey under the new system from GfK, before slipping behind them last time. However, today’s third survey shows they put on an impressive 1.8 per cent audience share taking them to 10 per cent, while the Kiis duo slipped  1.4 per cent to 9.5.

Troubled Southern Cross Austereo station 2DayFm got a slight lift Monday to Sunday with 4.5 per cent audience share, up 0.5 per cent, while its Breakfast with the Stars slipped back again to its lowest rating yet of 3.6 per cent. Sister station TripleM picked up some share, up 0.9 per cent to 5.9, whilst its breakfast show rose to 6.5 per cent.

Nova continued its slide with the station slipping overall 0.3 per cent to 7.5, whilst breakfast du Fitzy and Wippa dropped 0.8 to 7.1 share, whilst sister station SmoothFM also saw a dip of 0.8 per cent over the period.

Meanwhile 2UE’s audience share from Monday to Sunday 5.30am to midnight slipped back further on last time, with 4.2 per cent down from 4.6 per cent last time, while rival 2GB gained 0.1 per cent to 13.2 per cent. While 2GB’s Alan Jones posted a 15.1 per cent share for breakfast, down 0.4 per cent, 2UE’s Garry Linnel and John Stanley dropped 0.2 per cent to 3.9.

In the drive slot Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross maintained his lead in the FM networks with 9.6 per cent share on Kiis, although he dropped 0.9 per cent on last time out, while Nova’s Kate, Tim and Marty also dropped 1.7 per cent share to 8.7, while WSFM’s Lars Peterson was the biggest winner in the timeslot with 1.4 per cent to 7.8, and 2GB’s Ben Fordham grabbed the overall leadership position gaining 1.1 points to 11.7 per cent.
