Random Acts of Kindness puts Nine’s Sunday schedule back on track as Ten’s MasterChef soars

Nine’s Sunday night HomeMade hell is over, with replacement show Random Act of Kindness pulling in nearly 50% more viewers.

While the final Sunday night showing of HomeMade pulled in just 967,000 viewers a week ago, Sunday night’s Random Acts of Kindness saw an immediate improvement – up 46% to 1,412,000 viewers, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.

Indeed, the good-deeds-rewarded show – featuring Karl Stefanovic – took the network from a distant third for last Sunday to a competitive second.

However, MasterChef had a huge night – pulling in just under 2m viewers, its best audience of the year so far. It was nearly half a million up on the same time last week, and it also carried Rove with it, which was about 200,000 up on last week.

Sunday’s share: Ten 27.2%; Nine 26.2%; Seven 25.4%; ABC 16.6%; SBS 4.6%.
