Martin Patton has left independent media agency Razor, where he was executive director to start his own content marketing agency, Mumbella can reveal.

Patton, who had been in the role for just under two years, departed earlier this year and is in the process of launching his own content focused agency called Drum Creation.

Razor founder Simon Rush confirmed the departure today, telling Mumbrella: “We have a great relationship with Martin and are hugely supportive of his new venture. It’s something he’s been wanting to do for some time.”

Patton is a former managing director of Foundation and has also worked as executive director of Total Advertising, before it became PHD.

“Razor was a great time in my career but I’m looking forward to developing a content creation business,” Patton told Mumbrella.

His responsibilities at Razor have been taken on by Rush.

An independent media agency, Razor lost a number of key clients in recent years including Nike in 2013 and SBS in 2014. Its major clients now include Stuart Alexander brands Mentos, Guylian and Fisherman’s Friends, EFTPOS and Dymocks.
