Razor picks up CSR Monier Roofing, admits SBS loss ‘disappointing’

razor_6Independent agency Razor has said the loss of one of its foundation clients SBS yesterday came about because  noting that the client’s creative needs had changed and the loss was “disappointing.”

Yesterday’s loss of SBS to Naked Communications, which took creative duties from its sister agency Joy and media from Razor, came after last year’s loss of one of its biggest and most awarded clients Nike the agency has won $2m roofing brand CSR Monier.

Razor group director, Andrew Wynne said in a statement: “It is disappointing to lose a client when the work has been so consistently good over such a long period, but we appreciate that the creative needs of SBS have changed given their bigger internal creative department and wish them all the best in the future.
“SBS has been part of our family since the group began in 2003. We’ve enjoyed an incredibly successful relationship with them for the past 11 years and have had some amazing times. We’ve worked on some powerful campaigns, including the 6 and 7 billion stories, which has led us to win 39 awards altogether. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership over the next few months as we implement the next phase of the SBS brand, plus setting up SBS for a successful 2014 Fifa World Cup.”

The win of CSR Monier sees Razor take over company’s connection strategy and implementation across Australia.

Razor group’s executive director, Martin Patton, said: “CSR Monier is one of Australia’s great, long lasting brands, which continue to grow and innovate. We’re really excited about reengineering how Monier go to market. Together, we’re creating new channel structures and commercial opportunities to engage both B2C and B2B markets.”

Monier’s marketing manager, Carlie Spiteri, said: “We’re moving into a new phase of business and evolving our consumer communications, so we were looking for a partner who could share this journey with us. We felt Razor quickly understood our business and could help move us forward. We were looking for a partner with the right expertise and we look forward to fostering a great relationship with Razor”.

Razor’s largest clients now include Sydney Opera House, Stuart Alexander and Audi.
