ArdentDigital transfers Adobe practice to Razorfish as parent company moves out of administration

Digital agencies BlueArc and ArdentDigital have moved out of voluntary administration, after the company agreed to transfer its Adobe practice to rival agency Razorfish.

At a meeting of creditors last week the company’s creditors voted to move the group’s parent company The BlueArc Group, which runs both BlueArc and sister agency ArdentDigital, out of the voluntary administration which its directors placed it in in early November.

ArdentDigital’s Adobe practice consisting of ten staff, led by Ben Mooney, will now move across to Razorfish with the agency taking over the existing employment contracts.

BlueArc representatives were not available for comment directing all inquiries to its administrator.

Razorfish managing director Doug Chapman said in statement the move was a significant one for his agency as it adds developers, analysts and systems integration experts to its team.

“This is a significant move for the industry and we now have unmatched capabilities across creative, media, social, analytics, and CMS,” said Chapman.

Adobe Australia managing director Paul Robson also welcomed the move saying: “This move provides for even greater strategic input between the two organisations and further strengthens our ongoing relationship.”

Blue Arc’s administrators SV Partners confirmed the departure of the practice. “There were a few staff from the Adobe Group that chose to move to Razorfish but the group is no longer in administration,” said Ian Purchas, director of SV Partners.

ArdentDigital launched in February this year but was forced to close its China office recently. It is now in a dispute with its Chinese staff over the payment of final salaries.

*A previous version of this story stated that the the Adobe practice were sold. This arose from an ambiguity in the original release, Razorfish and BlueArc’s administrators have since clarified that there was no sale.
