REA Group appoints Microsoft’s Lisa Hickson as marketing head

REA Group has appointed a new head of marketing.

Microsoft marketer Lisa Hickson joins to Jo Whyte, who left in June, as general manager of brand, communications and insights at the property group.

Whyte is now brand marketing manager at Australia Post.

Hickson joins from a role as marketing director consumer and online at Microsoft Australia. She has also held senior marketing positions at Network Ten Digital Media, Virgin Money and SOCOG.

Greg Ellis, CEO and MD of REA Group, said in a press release: “We undertook an extensive search to fill the role of GM of our Brand, Communications & Insights team and we’re delighted to welcome someone of Lisa’s calibre to the business.”

“As well as having worked with some of Australia’s best known brands, Lisa brings a wealth of international experience, having undertaken an MBA at INSEAD in France, worked at Bain & Company in Hong Kong and Time Manager International (TMI) in both Hong Kong and the Philippines.”

“The Brand, Communications & Insights team plays an integral role in REA Group’s success and we know Lisa’s going to do a terrific job in continuing to build on the achievements of the group to benefit our customers, consumers and shareholders,” Ellis added.

Hickson starts in January.
