Read all about it: Hungry Jack’s sacks the subs

If ever an ad made the case for the dying art of the sub editor, this ad for Hungry Jack’s new breakfast range is it.

Surely they could have come up with slightly more interesting picture captions?

  2. I dunno, I thought the cancer headline on the news stand was refreshing honesty from them.

  4. A bit dull perhaps but with all those papers getting heaped on top of each other with the pics of food it does ‘feel’ like a lot for $4.95.

  6. i don’t understand why ‘interesting’ captions are relevant to selling the deal
the consumer needs to quickly understand what they’re getting, without the need to think and as Ro said, the ‘action’ is intended to reinforce that you’re getting a lot for your money
i actually thinks it’s one of the better fast food ads
certainly beats the drivel coming out of Nando

  8. You guys sure do have a bug up your arses about Hungry Jacks. They make bad ads. Get over it.

  10. They’re clearly trying to take KFC’s mantle for most crappiest ads and most inedible salt-riddled slop parading as an excuse for food.

  12. Not sure the caption is really something that matters too much to the viewer? Or could even be seen that clearly from the tv. I only noticed because it was pointed out in the article.

  14. So you want them to place content in the background of their ads that opens them up to attack – leaving a client constantly having to fight off complaints from the public on how dare they be so stupid. Ro, Sven and Sarah. I’m with you. No sub editoror needed on this TVC.

  16. Does it sell product?

Interesting be damned. Does it sell product?

Only industry insiders give a monkey’s about “interesting”.
