I think this is a great move for both. With the shift to online that's happening in almost every industry, it makes sense that real estate would move online as well. Obviously people still want to see what they're buying, but getting together with eBay will help more RE properties be seen. It will also probably help RE's online presence.

As an agent subscriber to RE, we kind of like the new deal as it might get us new leads but we've been hoping for google base/real estate to come up with new partnerships as well as this one is free and RE it's not

Linking to ebay may sound like a good idea in terms of traffic, but as Matthew has indicated the proportion that is targeted traffic I would suspect is pretty marginal. I wondered however if as a high PR website it would assist in terms of backlinking SEO?

A link on ebay to realestate.com.au? I was expecting more, slightly disappointed.

I find it hard to believe a sizeable number of people are browsing eBay for real-estate, though I'd love to see numbers.

It's not like property is an impulse buy, prime for cross selling against most of eBay's content.
