Revealed: Sydney’s red-out was a Tourism NT publicity stunt

The dramatic scenes that saw Sydney turned into a red city has already inspired some bold commercial claims – including a tongue-in-cheek one that it was an experiential campaign for Tourism NT.

It came from Vince Frost, boss of Sydney agency, Frost. He tells Dr Mumbo: “Our NT ‘get centered’ campaign was difficult to organise but we managed to pull it off! Bringing the red centre to Sydney. Another successful campaign from Frost!”

Which does highlight the potential topical advertising opportunity for lots of brands. Dr Mumbo hopes to hear tactical ads on the radio airwaves by this evening and to see some excellent print executions in tomorrow’s papers.

Any ideas?

  6. If walking around outside this morning is what it is like in the red centre, I’ll be doing my best to avoid it.
