Ricky Ponting to front Big Bash for Ten
Former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting is to be the face of Ten’s Big Bash coverage, the network has announced.
Ten bought the rights to the short form cricket league earlier this year.
Ponting, who stepped down as captain in 2011, is due to fully retire from the game in October.
Network Ten CEO Hamish McLennan said: “We are honoured that Ricky has agreed to join our new cricket commentary team. We are committed to making the KFC T20 Big Bash League a major television event for Ten and Cricket Australia. That is why we have recruited one of Australia’s most successful and respected cricketers of all time.”
