SCA rebrands SAFM as Hit107, announces new breakfast duo Amos and Dani
Southern Cross Austereo has confirmed speculation that it is rebranding its Adelaide radio station SAFM as Hit107 from next Monday.
The broadcaster confirmed the change while also announcing that Amos Gill and Dani Pola would takeover the breakfast slot, replacing Michael Beveridge and Hayley Pearson who departed last month after struggling in the ratings.
“It’s been really exciting to build a new station from the ground up. Everything from our music features, our breakfast contests, our approach to news and information, the tone of the and feel of our production and more,” said Craig Bruce, head of content at Southern Cross Austereo.
Gill grew up in the city and is also a stand up comedian, who most recently was a breakfast presenter on SeaFM on the Gold Coast, while Pola has been with SCA for two years in various hosting roles in most recently on the NSW Central Coast.
“Hopefully we can shake Adelaide up and get people buzzing about the new hit107,” he said. And whilst the bells and whistles are all well and good, more important than the trimmings is the breakfast show – and to that end, we think we’ve found a really exciting combination in Amos & Dani.”
SCA’s head of marketing and communication Nikki Clarkson said the new brand would target women under 40.
“Hit107 has been developed to give Adelaide’s radio landscape a great new brand that is agile and exciting,” said Clarkson.
“Working across all platforms, this new radio station mark aims to become part of everyday life amongst Adelaide’s women under 40.”

Dani was all about herself on air, you could hear how good she thought she was but being so stuck up resulted in absolutely terrible radio for her poor co-host to salvage. Dani became lame, unlistenable with zero regard for the Central Coast or its surroundings, her morning show is fantastic now she has departed, the Adelaide audience may just fall to her feet as she so desires.

This week has been the best it’s been in years. There has been a great mix of old and new songs. Think they should keep this up rather than play the same songs every 2 hours. Listening at work has been a joy in the last 5 days. Not repetitive and boring.

Bad week for branding in SA. First Bank SA then this. The town’s getting uglier.
