Scott McClellan steps down as CEO of AANA

AANA CEO Scott McClellanCEO of the Australian Association of National Advertisers Scott McClellan has announced his resignation after four years at the helm of the industry regulating body.

Acting chair, Inese Kingsmill of Telstra said in a media release: “During his time as CEO, Scott has skilfully managed a wide range of industry, government and community stakeholders to defend and promote the interests of marketers. The Association is now strongly positioned for continued growth and we thank him for his service.”

McClellan told Mumbrella in July that the days of the multi million dollar TV ad were coming to an end, and that clamping down on production costs was a key item on the AANA’s agenda.

Alina Bain, AANA director of codes, policy and regulatory affairs will take over while the search for McClellan’s replacement takes place. Former Nestle marketing head and current board member Ian Ian Alwill will also assist in the meantime.
