Search begins for an Aussie Jerry Springer

The man behind the The Jerry Springer Show is headed to Australia to talk to networks about finding an Aussie Springer.

Richard Dominick, who took the Jerry Springer Show from cancellation to global syndication, will be working with Sydney based production firm Blacksheep on the project. He is due in Australia shortly to talk to the TV networks.

The anticipated first stop is Australia with the UK, Japan, Amsterdam, Germany and America to follow. The proposed reality series will pit Australian Springer wannabes against one another as they complete challenges judged by a panel of experts. The winner will receive a contract to host their own talk show.

Blacksheep has already worked on projects in America with Richard Dominick Productions – which is also involved in The Amazing Race – as well as representing Dominick’s interests in Australia including plans to bring Springer himself down under.

  12. A “reality” game-show to select a low-brow talk-show host?
    How unrealistic can you get?

As ever in media, the grey line between genius and lunatic will be marked by success. Or cataclysmic failure.

  14. Are you kidding! it ‘s a great idea! At last an Australian TV show, that encourages
Midget throwing, sordid affairs and Jelly Wrestling Nymphs with bad habits.

I think it’s time we threw some spice back into the boring reality that is “REALITY TV”

(In actual feeds my fetish for midgets in Diapers)

  18. AdGrunt… i think it will be a runaway success… it all depends on if the network idiots want to get involved, or leave the team at blacksheep alone to deliver a great idea, without their input…. we shall see eh?
