Senior Clemenger Group executive Kim Boehm takes new role in search for new talent

Screen Shot 2015-06-11 at 4.16.11 PMThe Melbourne-based executive chairman of Clemenger Group, Kim Boehm, will head the company’s search for new blood in the new role of head of talent management and marketing.

Clemenger chairman Rob Morgan announced the move this afternoon as he acknowledged the recruitment, and retention of staff, was becoming increasingly tough.

“We have always prided ourselves on having an unfair share of the best talent, but it’s no secret that it’s getting harder and harder to find, attract and keep the best people,” he said.

“Last year we put in place a plan to bring the majority of our recruitment in-house and to ensure that we have the best Graduate Program possible.

“Both of those moves have been successful but we believe there is so much more that we can do to create a people advantage.”

Boehm has been as executive director for the agency after eight years as managing director and executive chairman of Clemenger BBDO in Adelaide.

The South Australian agency closed in December 2014, with the company at the time announcing that Boehm would join of independent KWP, which was taking over some of the agency’s clients. He has been acting as an advisory board member with KWP and will continue to attend their board meetings.

Morgan said finding and retaining the best staff was identified by its leaders as the key factor in building a successful “agency of the future”.

“There were a number of strategies that emerged from this exercise that we’ve been quietly chipping away at but people will always be our first priority,” he said.
