Seven’s branded content cruising show beaten by mining and Bondi Rescue in primetime slot
Channel Seven’s branded content show for Royal Caribbean Tom, Rach and Rosso Go Cruising was beaten into third place in its 8pm timeslot last night, picking up 571,000 viewers.
The number was down on the last time Seven ran a brand-funded show during the Easter period, which saw McDonald’s Gets Grilled watched by 761,000 people in the 9.30pm timeslot on April 3, 2012.
It was beaten by ABC shows Catalyst (804,000) and Making Australia Great: Inside Our Longest Boom (723,000) and Bondi Rescue on Ten (640,000), although it did beat the second and third of a trio of repeat episodes of The Big Bang theory on Nine which had 526,000 and 543,000 viewers respectively, according to OzTam’s metro overnight ratings.
Seven and Nine News were the only shows to break the million viewer mark, with Seven pipping Nine with 1.013m viewers to 1.002m at 6pm, and Seven News/Today Tonight getting 919,000 ahead of Nine News’ 902,000 at 6.30pm.
Home and Away was the most watched non-news show of the evening with 758,000 viewers for an hour long episode from 7pm.
Nine won the battle for audience share with 19.5 per cent, ahead of Seven’s 17 per cent, while ABC pipped Ten with 14.5 per cent to 14 per cent.
